Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, and greater flexibility. My goal is to restore full health to the soft tissues of your body, both treating your specific conditions as well as improving your overall well-being.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is challenging on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and wellness by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.

Foot & Ankle Care

Our feet and ankles need a great deal of care from the day-to-day normal activities they go through and the support they provide. Massage therapy in foot and ankle care can bring known benefits for clients. These include improved range of motion, increased circulation and decreased swelling and joint stiffness. Additional advantages include reduced pain from conditions such as plantar fasciitis and arthritis. Reduction in scar tissue and adhesions resulting from surgery are also known benefits of massage therapy. Each client's session of 15 to 20 minutes is targeted to help relieve pain and bring overall relaxation through reduction of stress and anxiety.

Chair Massages

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your home or workplace. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.

Besides individual sessions, special rate packages are available for corporate staff appreciation sessions at worksite.

Geriatric Massage

Geriatric massage is a form of massage designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly. It helps to improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and also increase range of motion. If you are elderly, geriatric massage can help you maintain and improve your overall health, as well as regain certain physical functions that have been reduced due to aging. In addition, since the elderly don't typically receive enough physical touch, this massage can also help alleviate symptoms of loneliness or depression.

Active Isolated Stretching

Developed by Aaron Mattes, Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is a dynamic system for improving your flexibility and overall well-being. As you probably already know, stretching your muscles not only reduces your chance of injury, but also strengthens your tendons and improves your circulation.

Hot Stone Therapy

Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.

Palliative Care Massage

Palliative care massage addresses the client’s symptom issues. These include the side effects of various treatments, the physical, psychological, social and emotional consequences of living with a terminal illness. Massage often promotes a greater sense of connection between the mind and body complexes.

It has been known, experienced, and proven that massage can decrease pain, fatigue, stress, anxiety, nausea and depression. Massage can also enhance a person’s quality of life, promoting a greater sense of wellbeing.

I bring to my practice over ten years of experience working with individuals experiencing end of life care. This type of massage is adapted to the needs of each client, and it supports the person through all stages of their illness and treatment.
